LifeSpring ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy is compliant with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
We collect and process:
Identity & Contact Data: Name, email, and phone number.
Financial Data: Payment details for donations (processed securely via our third-party payment providers).
Technical Data: IP addresses and cookies when you use our website.
We only use your data when the law allows us to. Most commonly:
Legitimate Interests: To send you updates about our mission and fundraising if you have previously supported us (the "Charitable Soft Opt-in"). You can opt out at any time.
Contract: To process your donations or applications.
Legal Obligation: Specifically for HMRC Gift Aid records.
We do not keep your data longer than necessary. However, we have specific legal obligations:
Gift Aid & Financial Records: We are legally required by HMRC to maintain records of your donations and Gift Aid declarations for 6 years after the end of the financial year in which the last donation was made.
Enduring Declarations: If you signed a declaration covering future gifts, we retain this for the duration of your support, plus 6 years after your final donation.
Marketing Data: We keep your contact details until you unsubscribe. If you opt out, we keep your email on a "suppression list" so we don't contact you by mistake.
As LifeSpring operates in Uganda, some data may be accessed by our team there. We ensure that any data accessed outside the UK is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure it receives the same level of protection as it would in the UK.
You have the right to access, correct, or erase your data. Please note that the "Right to Erasure" does not override our legal obligation to keep Gift Aid records for the 6-year statutory period.
If you have any questions about this policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact:
